One of the UK’s largest regional airlines has confirmed the return of one of its summer routes in and out of Newcastle.
Loganair is now flying again between Newcastle and Newquay.
Twice weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, have now resumed at Newcastle Airport and will operate throughout the summer season until the end of October this year.
With a flying time of around 80 minutes, it is the only direct flight between the two destinations.
Leon McQuaid, director of aviation at Newcastle Airport, said: "The route between Newcastle and Newquay has always been popular. It serves the northeast travelling public who are looking for a sunshine break within the UK, and equally passengers from Cornwall and the surrounding areas who are looking to visit the northeast region for a scenic city break.
“The twice-weekly flight allows for flexible stay lengths and Loganair's generous baggage allowance ensures passengers can take everything they need for their trip without any extra expense."
All Loganair flights include 15kg luggage allowance as standard, and advance booking is encouraged to benefit from the best value fares.
