A man accused of strangling a woman and assaulting two other people is to appear at Durham Crown Court.
Brian O’Neill, 26, of Adelaide Street, Shildon, has been charged with six offences following an incident in Crook on October 30.
As well as intentional strangulation, he is charged with three counts of assault, criminal damage and obstructing a police officer.

It is said he damaged a living room door during the incident in Cedar Gardens.
He has appeared before County Durham magistrates sitting at Newton Aycliffe and the case has been sent to crown court.
O’Neill is granted conditional bail until June 6 when a plea and trial preparation hearing will be held.
