A man accused of raping a woman is to appear at Durham Crown Court.
John Murphy, 60, of Escallond Drive, Dalton-le-Dale, Seaham, was arrested by police after a complaint was made against him.
He has now been formally charged and has appeared before County Durham magistrates sitting in Newton Aycliffe.
No plea has been entered and he is due at Durham Crown Court on June 5 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
