A cannabis user who admitted dealing the drug to friends has been spared jail.
Officers found a tray of the class c drug when they went to Steven Bowden's home on December 19 last year.
Newcastle Crown Court heard the stash had a potential street value of £235.
Bowden, 38, of Spencer Street, Jarrow, admitted possessing the drug with intent to supply.
Defence barrister Glen Gatland said Bowden would supply only to a circle of friends for their own use and they would also supply to him at times.
Judge Tony Lancaster sentenced Bowden to 20 weeks imprisonement suspended for 12 months with supervision.
