How to win the Scoop6 millions

THOSE good eggs at the Tote put their heads together a while ago and created a bet which has really come up trumps this afternoon.

The Tote Scoop6 is rolling over for an 11th week in a row, and the combined total in the win and bonus pool is likely to exceed a record-breaking £5m.

Even non-racing folk are climbing on the bandwagon as the kitty balloons, big-money syndicates pumping in thousands to try and get a slice of the action.

At £2 a line the cost soon swells, however if you team up with a few friends it's possible to have two runners in each of the six races for a stake of £128.

That's 64 lines altogether, leg one leading off with the 2.10 at Lingfield in which Atlantic Story and My Gacho, both trained in these parts and proven polytrack performers, get the nod.

Leg two is the next on the card at the Surrey venue, Izzibizzi and Jennie Jerome, going for broke in a fiercely-competitive heat which is sure to knock out many tickets.

Exit stage right and over to the jumping boys at Haydock, where the 16-runner three-mile Handicap Chase at 2.45 is another devil to solve.

Glasker Mill will be popular following a splendid comeback run at Cheltenham, and I'm also tossing Ferdy Murphy's less obvious, Karelian, into the mix.

Back to "Lingers" for the 3.20 and a possible banker in Bronze Cannon, who boasts superb all-weather form, plus the rock-solid Re Barolo, a consistent and ultra-smart cookie.

Huntingdon's 3.30 looks a tap-in for the amazingly well-handicapped Millards Lad, however should he fail, Heathcliff is a worthy second-string to our bow.

If we're still in, time now to pop on the brown trousers and keep everything crossed that either Prohibit or Chief Editor can strut their stuff in Lingfield's 3.50 to land the jackpot.
